Came to “The Place” because of the 5 star rating and enjoyed it! Starter: Grilled Octopus Main Course: Cod Fillet with Smoked Beetroot & Walnut Risotto Desert: Polish Cheese Cake Coffee: Double Espresso My favorite was the Cod Fillet not just looking great but also well fried on “spot”, the Tartare look is a real eye catcher! Great, friendly service, nice atmosphere.
Full english breakfast was really good. Wild mushrooms on toast with poached eggs and kale was massive portion, could hardly eat half of it, which was a bit of a waste. Other than that good location and good service.
Impeccable experience. Service was fast and ambience was on point, gave off a kinda speakeasy vibe. We were suprised to be the only customers that evening despite the high praise on reviews. Starters were absolutely delicious and the perfect appetisers. Mains were a generous portion and tasted even better than it looked. You always question whether the price tag equates to the value of the dish in these sort of fine-dining-esque establishments but this was absolutely worth it! Dessert was nice but nowhere as mind-blowing as the savoury dishes, though that could've been our choice in dessert or explained by the affordable price tag. Probably my new favourite spot in bournemouth!

Forget the Ivy, go here instead.Simply incredible! Top quality food cooked by someone who really cares with outstanding service. Some of the best seafood we've had in Bournemouth in a long time and the pork melted in the mouth. Eat local, eat here. We will be back for breakfast next month.
Went to The Place for breakfast with my girlfriend. The lady that served us was really friendly and attentive and the food and coffee was excellent. Plus, it was great value for money! Would 100% recommend going here if you’re looking for somewhere to go for breakfast.
Great little find for Sunday breakfast. The food was freshly cooked and staff friendly. It wasn't busy considering the reviews as most places are rammed. I gave 3 stars for atmosphere only because it was quiet but it might be better on a different day.
I came here with my husband for a Birthday lunch, i had read great reviews and had been wanting to try for awhile. We booked through the website and got confirmation via email. Our plans changed slightly so we had to alter the time at last minute. But this was no problem at all. We arrived and were greeted warmly, we were the only customers but it's such a beautiful restaurant it didn't really matter. We sat by the window and people watched. Maybe a bit of music next time. The lunch menu seemed small but actually everything on it sounded delicious. We shared, baked oysters to start, very tasty, Then shared the 'meat flatbreads' these were insanely good, Then shared the 'open pork belly sandwich' again very very good. The food is gorgeous, We were very happy with our lunch and then we were presented with a birthday cake & candle, it's was such a sweet surprise. Very thoughtful and although we were completely full we had to tuck into this. It was a pistachio cheesecake but with a cake top. So so good. Will definitely be back soon I would like to try the breakfast & the evening meal. Lovely place. Thank you for making my birthday lunch special. Very reasonable too
